If your son or daughter is going to university and you’re worried about the burden of student debt or how you’re going to fund them through their studies, then Student Cash Point has all the information you need.

Going to university is a great academic achievement for your child, and it’s also a long-term investment in their future. On average a graduate will earn between 20% and 100% more than someone who hasn’t attended university, and over their lifetime this can add up to more than £100,000.

However, with the cost of going to university increasing and without financial support, your child is likely to come out of University with up to £20,000 of student debt. And as a parent, you are going to be worried about saddling your son or daughter with this kind of burden at such an early age... never mind thinking about how the Bank of Mum and Dad is going to cover the costs!

The good news is there’s plenty of financial support on offer and not all of it will lead your child towards debt. There are over 3,000 grants, bursaries, scholarships and awards available to help students through university and most of that is free money that doesn’t need to be paid back.

The bad news is that only the student themselves is eligible for support, so your child is going to have to be proactive and apply for the funding themselves.

But, as a parent there are lots of things you can do:

  • Search the student cash point – find out what funding your child might be eligible for as well as details on how and when to apply. Our information includes application forms so all you need to do is fill in their details and pop it in the post.
  • Create a report – you can create your own customised funding report. Simply select the schemes that interest you most and click produce report. You can print it off and leave it on your child’s desk.
  • Set up grant alerts – by saving your search criteria you will automatically receive an email alert whenever any new funding that matches your child’s circumstances is added to the Student Cash Point. So there’s no excuse for missing out.
  • Read our student guide – find out how much your child is likely to be spending each year as well as hints and tips on how they can get their hands on some extra cash whilst they study.

So why not run a search now and find out what funding your child might be missing out on.

An investment in their future
